Operation: Connect, a unique group founded by four women, seeks to help veterans thrive and assimilate in their post-military career.

Transitioning back into civilian life has always been a challenge for service members separating from the military.

But what if it didn’t have to be? One organization, Operation: Connect, is looking to change that.

Operation: Connect was founded by a group of four women, Alexis Parnell, Dawn Pensack, Lori Norris and Michelle Reitzner, to connect veterans to each other and to a variety of resources equipped to help them thrive in the civilian workforce. Their research-based program is designed for veterans, by veterans, to help address the unique needs that veterans face post-service. And, as we found out in our latest podcast, they believe their approach to veteran wellness improves job retention, enhances communication, and builds a community for vets so that they can strive for their dream job.

Operation: Connect’s four-person team combines its four areas of expertise — physical health, emotional wellbeing, career guidance and positive psychology — to help veterans thrive and assimilate in their post-military career.

According to Operation: Connect’s history, the organization was “borne from a mutual passion to connect veterans to each other and to a variety of resources to help them thrive in corporate workplaces. We believe that serving those that have served our country makes organizations stronger. That is the energy that sets us apart.”

Operation: Connect offers a free resource titled “5 Steps to a Successful Military Transition”, which can be accessed and downloaded here.
