A VBIED in the Shiite neighborhood of Abu Dsheer, in Southern Baghdad, killed at least 7 and wounded 20 on Tuesday (January 17th) at 1635 ZULU+2. The explosion occurred at an open market area.
At the time of writing, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack. Lima Charlie News sources inside the Iraqi Security Forces are implying that it is strongly indicated that a faction of the Islamic State have launched a campaign of terror against Shiite civilians across Baghdad in retaliation to the Iraqi forces advancements into Mosul.
