Constituents of Rep. John Lewis (D-GA-5) took to Twitter on Saturday to defend their district from accusations made by president-elect Donald Trump.
The Twittersphere was buzzing Saturday morning after the president-elect angrily responded to Rep. Lewis’ comments to “Meet the Press” moderator Chuck Todd about the legitimacy of the impending Trump presidency. President-elect Trump tweeted that Rep. Lewis should spend more time fixing his district which, as he put it, “in horrible shape, falling apart” and “crime infested”.
It was not long before citizens in Georgia’s 5th district, located in northern Atlanta, which includes approximately 750,000 people, started tweeting at Trump to contest his accusations.

Rep. Lewis is becoming one of Donald Trump’s more vocal critics. He stated he will boycott the president-elect’s inauguration this Friday and testified against Trump’s choice for Attorney General, Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL).
