Lima Charlie Sports is back! In this episode, “Athletes Behaving Badly,” Mike and Mario talk about off-field behavior among athletes and whether anything should excuse bad behavior. They discuss Ezekiel Elliott’s St. Patrick’s Day float incident, whether his off-field behavior should be scrutinized to the degree it is, and why he gets looked at differently than other “partying” athletes. They then transition into the minefield around Joe Mixon’s assault charge, and him not getting invited to the NFL scouting combine. Mario comes down hard wanting nothing to do with anyone convicted of domestic assault, while Mike tries to find the nuance behind how two people could end up in such a horrible situation. Ultimately, they agree on two things: that fair or not, the presence of video matters to the punishment, and the NFL will sweep anything under the rug that they can.
