Jordan, a Middle East crossroads in crisis

Op-Ed. A staunch US ally, Jordan has for a long time been a reliable recruiting ground for jihadist entities. In the midst of an economic crisis, a refugee crisis, unemployment, and even a drought, Jordan has now seen a dramatic increase in extremism within its own borders. 2016 was the 70th anniversary of the creation of Jordan.
